It was so rewarding to hear my T-Score had improved from the Osteoporosis score of -2.5 to the Osteopenia range of -1.0 to -2.5. Hooray! Medication (Aclasta) and working out with Cath 2 times a week on weights, core & balance is responsible for my improvement. Even better news my Endocrinologist has recommended I stop the medication and just continue working with the weight bearing exercises even after a very recent nondisplaced shoulder fracture. When I was diagnosed with osteoporosis a few years ago I was fortunate to learn about Cath Stephens and her determination to help people like me increase their bone strength.
I have built up my weight loads slowly and carefully. It is not a competition but a steady plan to make me stronger.
I also appreciate that each 1 hour session includes core and balance exercises.
Whilst I take medication for my osteoporosis I know that the Northern Beaches Bone Health Centre weights program is making me stronger, reducing my risk of falls, stand straighter and improving my overall health and well-being.
